The CBS newsletter shares updates on the wide range of activities happening across our communities. We’re incredibly lucky to have people who are passionate about organising events, as well as those who support making them happen.

Working together for our community
Supporting the local community of Catterline, Kinneff and Dunnottar Community Council by providing places, events and opportunities for people to meet, work and socialise.

- Rare moth discovery at Kinneff Community Orchard
Volunteers monitoring wildlife at Kinneff Community Orchard have made an exciting discovery, recording one of Scotland’s rarest moth visitors. During a routine moth survey using overnight light traps, the team identified a Marbled Yellow Pearl (Evergestis extimalis), a species recorded only a handful of times in Scotland. Look at this view! As part of International Lighthouse Weekend, we are offering a guided tour of the wonderful Todhead Lighthouse. There are 3 tours in total: 10.30; 11.15; 12.00. How better to start your day than with a guided social run, jog, walk? This event, on the morning of our festival, is for all ages and is similar to Park Run. An afternoon for all ages with a western-themed bake-off (we dare you), fancy dress competition, tug of (many) wars, races (we challenge you), the return of the duck chucking and some surprise activities. Our popular day of music returns with a great programme of bands. We’ve been doing this since 2010 with acclaimed musicians, summer vibes and a climax of music, merriment, mayhem and community celebration.
